We’ve already seen how video chat has become the first front between the two social networks, with Google’s Chat-powered Hangouts squaring off against Facebook and Skype.
Skype also happens to be Microsoft’s newest acquisition. At the event announcing Facebook video chat, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg enthusiastically touted Facebook’s ability to partner with other companies (especially Microsoft) as an alternative to Google’s (or Apple’s) integrated all-in-one approach.

Google vs Microsoft - The war begins
The next year in tech will be all about building connections between PC and post-PC devices, whether phones, tablets, game consoles, e-readers or next-gen SmartRoombas. They’ll be connections without cords, built on shared interfaces, proximity-based communication, and storage, syncing and computing infrastructure increasingly shifted to the cloud.
That’s what Tuesday’s release of OS X Lion is all about: building on the App Store and iCloud.

Google breaking Google Labs,Gmail lab survive
Google announced Wednesday it will be slowly shuttering Google Labs, its experimental site for projects that aren’t quite products. That news prompted fear and news reports that popular “experimental” features in Gmail and other products would also be killed. Heavy users of Gmail — including me — have come to rely on Labs features such as “Undo,” which gives you a few seconds after hitting send to revoke the command, to the extent they now feel like permanent features.
Google Plus losing users ?
Google+ continues to set records as the fastest-growing social network in history, but Google’s social juggernaut is beginning to show signs that it’s losing steam.
Ancestry.com co-founder Paul Allen (not to be confused with the Microsoft co-founder of the same name) posted his most recent analysis of Google+’s growth on his Google+ account Tuesday. According to his analysis, the search giant’s Facebook competitor will likely reach 18 million users by the end of Tuesday, but its growth rate has dropped by 50% from its peak.

After a lot of failed startups, Google launched its new startup called Google plus (currently in alpha) , its a well designed social networking website. It is the 3rd attempt of google in social networking.But is it gonna beat the facebook ???
